A short history of YearZero
YearZero is a “micro-agency” created by designer Sandie Levent and former publisher Josselin Moneyron, and providing creative services to artists and publishers. We strive to design promotional material tailored to the needs and resources of both large companies and small structures in the cultural field
A specialization in book marketing
Our art director Sandie is in charge since 2008 of most online promotion at French comic-book publisher Glénat (trailers, banners, skins...), while Josselin, as a publisher at Viz Media Europe, handled marketing development for years. Together, we experimented thoroughly with a wide range of tools, and have reached an acute understanding of what works and what doesn’t.

While a true marketing agency needs a large pool of technical specialists to handle most scenarios, at the expense of deeper expertise, we are two freelancers with a rather wide array of skills, but most importantly a real understanding of what marketing should do for an artist. This makes communicating with artists simpler and more efficient, the result closer to their expectations, and our prices significantly lower.
Back in 2008, we were almost the only ones in France who created book trailers, and the first to introduce depth and movement. Nowadays, we still keep an eye on what is being done in the commercial world to propose innovating solutions on all media.
